Design
The design of the product closely resembles other HP products, featuring an overall simple and minimal appearance without sharp curves or edges. The lightweight design allows for easy portability. The weight is evenly distributed across the entire notebook, making it secure to lift with a single hand from any point on the device.
13th Gen Raptor Lake Processor
The HP FD0336nia laptop’s performance is driven by the Intel Core i3 1315U, a HexaCore Processor with 10 MB of Intel Smart Cache. The setup includes 5 efficiency cores and 1 performance core, illustrating Intel’s focus on efficiency to ensure the package lasts a long time. This emphasis on efficiency doesn’t compromise performance, as the CPU excels in modern high-density tasks with ease. The unit is optimized at a clocked CPU speed of 1.2 GHz, which can boost up to 4.5 GHz when needed, thanks to Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology.
In terms of memory handling, it can easily manage DDR4 at a maximum transfer rate of 3200 MT/s. For graphical support, it features discrete Intel Iris Xe graphics, tuned to function as UHD graphics. These graphics specialize in handling all graphics-associated tasks, such as gaming or 3D modeling, to the best of their capabilities.
Memory and Storage
To facilitate smooth multitasking across multiple Windows applications or browser tabs, the HP 13th Generation laptop is equipped with a DDR4 setup that fully utilizes the CPU’s memory control, running at 3200 MT/s with a capacity of 4 GB. To ensure longevity, the RAM can be upgraded either at the time of purchase or later when needed. The upgrade options range from the provided 4 GB to 32 GB, arranged in a dual-channel configuration.
The storage drive included in the package is a PCIe NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive with a capacity of 256 GB, offering ultra-fast read and write speeds for rapid data transfer. Similar to the RAM, the storage capacity can be extended to a maximum of 2 TB with fast M.2 storage after upgrading.
Display
The singular hardware piece serves as the focal point for observing all processing or consuming content on the expansive 39.6 cm (15.6-inch) diagonal display, delivering Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080. The micro-edge bezels contribute to a maximum screen-to-body ratio. The screen features an anti-glare surfacing treatment, eliminating reflections and achieving a maximum brightness of 250 nits. This enhancement not only minimizes distractions but also enhances the displayed content, covering 45% of the NTSC color space. This makes it optimal for a variety of non-color grading applications.
Keyboard and Trackpad
The keyboard and pointing device setup for the notebook include a full-size keyboard with backlit functionality, aiding visibility in darker surroundings. The keyboard has a soft grey appearance and features a numeric keypad on the side. The fully clickable Imagepad comes with multi-gesture support for Windows.
Other Specs
Uplifting the content consumption experience are the front-firing dual speakers, providing an immersive experience. The webcam included is a True Vision HD camera, recording at 720p. It utilizes software for temporal noise reduction and features an integrated dual array of digital microphones.
For external connectivity, the Core i3 13th Gen laptop offers 1 USB Type-C port with a 5 Gbps signaling rate supporting data transfer only (not charging or external monitor output), 2 USB Type-A ports with a 5 Gbps signaling rate, 1 AC smart pin, 1 HDMI 1.4b port, and 1 headphone/microphone combo jack. The wireless network is supported by the MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E MT7902 (1×1) and Bluetooth® 5.3 wireless card, supporting a gigabit data rate.
The power source for the HP 15 is a 3-cell Lithium-Ion Polymer battery with a capacity of 41 Wh. Thanks to the power-saving measures implemented by the CPU, the battery life is guaranteed to be around up to 2 hours and 30 minutes.
